Hey there! I’m Kaylee & I am the Design Manager @ GoodParty.org

Good Party is not a political party. We build tools to change the rules, and are mobilizing a movement of people to disrupt the corrupt two-party system. As the design manager, I am building teams and technology that help independent, grassroots candidates from across the political spectrum have a real chance of running and winning in local and state elections.

A little about me

Before Good Party, I worked at ChartHop, a startup where I led the development of a scalable, data-driven design system and the design for our new HRIS. My expertise is rooted in UI and complex multi-product systems. My special sauce is efficiency.

When I'm not working, I am usually lost in a book, hanging out with friends, tackling house projects, or on an adventure. I'm a food enthusiast but I loathe olives. I also have a mini jungle of houseplants and a cat, Buster, who loves photobombing my video calls.

The full bio

It all started in 2006. I was making MySpace layouts and teaching myself HTML. A few years later, I started a part-time business designing websites for local companies. In 2010, I went to college: I paid for my tuition by building websites.

In 2014, I was offered a position at an up-and-coming digital agency. I started working on critical projects early on because I was the only designer who could code. I designed websites for companies like Ford, Starbucks, Wendy’s, Kimberly-Clark, Sears, and more.

In December 2016, I was given the book Atomic Design by Brad Frost, and in 2017, I transitioned into B2B SaaS. From 2016 to 2023, I continued to learn, grow, and help businesses scale their design practice. Today, I am considered an expert in systems design, encompassing UI, data, and architecture, with a strong focus on AI learning and development.

Somewhere along my journey, I became a manager, first managing interns, then later growing teams. My approach to management is simple: I want to help teams thrive and individuals grow, fostering diverse perspectives and superpowers to help everyone achieve their goals.
